Redesigning the checkout @

It was with great pleasure that I accepted the invitation by the Amsterdam UX meetup group, to tell the story about redesigning the checkout at on October 4th, 2017. And many thanks to Adyen, for hosting the evening.

Telling the story about this 2-year journey, from starting the research to getting the first version live, was great fun and I really enjoyed the discussions during and after the presentation. Thanks all for being there! The slides can be found here.

UX for real-life products: cars

As I wrote earlier, in my post 'What is UX?': UX as a concept is not new. It has been around for years. Maybe not being called 'UX', but the idea is the same. As an example, I use the fact that e.g. BMW works hard on tweaking the sound of the car-doors closing.

(Dutch-alert) Cookiewetgeving: de oplossing die het probleem werd

In some cases it is a synonym for visual-/ graphic-/ user-interface-design. And sometimes there’s no clue. Googling for 'what is ux' will return you about 100.000.000 results. Trying to add something to this topic feels a bit ridiculous. But, hey, here's my 2 cents :-)

(Dutch Alert) WhatsApp, Facebook & Telegram

De recente ophef over de overname van WhatsApp door Facebook: ik krijg er een beetje jeuk van. Waarom?

Los van de discussies over het astronomische bedrag, lees ik dingen als: "I am not handing over my phone number to Facebook to misuse and give out to third parties." Of: "The best new IM. Forget whatsapp, this is the all new multi-platform instant messaging, that's free, forever." En dan komt die jeuk.
